This is the perfect camp that combines music, technology, fun, and learning.
Who:
3rd - 5th graders. This is a small camp with no more than 6 students each week.
What:
Students play music apps on their iPads together in a real band! It's a blast for anyone who loves music and technology. Not only is this camp fun, but students will also learn fundamental music skills like note reading, playing by ear, improvising and composing from a certified and experienced music teacher. We also play a variety of genres like rock, pop, jazz, and classical music.
Students are connected through a mixer and sound system so they can hear each other and play together in a band setting. They will also have headphones to practice on their own.
In addition to direct music instruction and practice time, students participate in other fun music activities and snack time.

When:
July 25-29, 9am-12pm - students entering grades 3-5
Why:
Why the iPad instead of a more traditional instrument? Well, it's fun, for starters, and it's easier to have meaningful musical experiences playing an iPad from the start as opposed to practicing a "real" instrument. You can also play many different "instruments" using a variety of apps, so you can try them all!

Price: $150 plus purchase of apps (under $20).
Requirements: Students will need to bring their own iPad or iPad mini to participate (it needs to be an iPad/Apple product) and purchase their own apps.
